Identifying Popular Audience

Based on the genre analysis assignment I did about Lasik eye surgery, the popular audience that it would spark interest to would be patients and overall the general public, and whoever is interesting in going through the procedure. The popular audience would want to know the pros and cons of getting the procedure done, how long the procedure would take, how long recovery from the procedure would take, who to contact when they are ready to go through with the procedure and general information about the procedure. I feel the audience would need to know just about everything they want to know, however they would need to know the pros and cons over any of the other wants. It's important to see if the pros out weigh the cons or vise- versa, in order to really make a logical decision about the surgery. My popular audience would be able to truly understand the controversy that has risen over the Lasik surgery, by simply researching both genres (popular perspective and professional perspective) and taking both sides into account.

  1. I like how your basic layout covered questions someone would have on this surgery. I am considering doing this very thing. My future son-in-law is trying to convince me that it's so much better than the hassle of wearing glasses. Only thing I suggest is squaring away the pictures so the writing can be clearly seen. I am not sure, but I think you can align left if you were on a whole page and edit that picture out of the way, or edit its' size before you insert the image. I had to do my pictures several attempts to get just the right size I wanted. Otherwise great job and information.

  2. I thought the information that you provided was enough for your popular audience. I liked the misconceptions that you had, but maybe separate the actual misconception and the reality more clearly, I had to re-read some of them. Besides that all the information that you provided was good and had just enough detail for the audience it is intended for.
