Evolution vs. Religion- this controversy was the first one that came to my head when thing about "hot topics" or controversies that are within my discipline. The topic is always bother people because some want to believe that we evolved from certain species of animals or such, whereas other people want to believe that we were created my man '(God) The cause of it being a big deal would be the fact that the certain religions wants everyone to think their right and that evolution is not something we should be supporting. I think its interesting because I can see both sides of the controversy and all sides have a truth.
Lasik surgery- this is a controversy because some people think that it isn't worth it, however the people who benefit have really seen a difference. I think it's interesting because the optometry field has created a way to correct one's vision to perfect 20/20 vision. Its quite remarkable to me and maks me more and more interested on how they accomplish this.

ReplyDeleteYour lasik topic hits me home due to I do a lot of computer at home and at my job in the medical laboratory. I was thinking of getting this treatment done so I don't have to invest time,money and emotion in taking care of my eyeglasses.

ReplyDeleteI like the evolution/ creation topic. There is so much information you can find on this. You can also get into microevolution and macroevolution. Microevolution is definantly happening. It has been proven. Macro is much harder to prove. Creationism on the other hand is also hard to prove. The Bible is not a scientifical source. Yes there are remains of the Ark and things like that but there isnt't much information on it. This would be a difficult topic but very interesting.
